Honored Retirees
These horses hold a very special place in Huxley’s journey. Each played a meaningful role in her growth as a rider and horsewoman, helping shape the foundation of her career and the program that exists today. Their lessons, generosity, and partnership will always be remembered and honored, and they remain forever part of the Huxley Greer Equestrian legacy.
Octavian
With a vision for building something meaningful, our founder brings a blend of big-picture thinking and hHuxley and Octavian grew up together, beginning their partnership when Huxley was just 12 years old and Octavian was still a young, green horse. Learning side by side, they navigated the challenges of the sport together, building trust, resilience, and a partnership that would carry them through the levels of eventing. Their journey culminated at the two-star level, representing Area II at the 2009 NAJYRC Championships and earning team gold.
More than a competitive partner, Octavian shaped Huxley as a rider and horsewoman. He taught her patience, perseverance, and belief—lessons that continue to influence her approach to training and horsemanship today. Octavian remains the cornerstone of Huxley’s passion for the sport and a horse she will always carry with her.ands-on experience. They set the tone for everything we do.

Marked Ruler
Marcus and Huxley began their partnership in 2016, working together to steadily move up the levels of eventing through Preliminary. Along the way, Marcus played a pivotal role in Huxley’s development on the flat, helping her achieve her best dressage scores to date at both horse trials and recognized dressage shows. His willing nature, lighthearted personality, and genuine love of his work made him a truly special partner.
Now retired, Marcus continues to bring the same joy and charm to his days, enjoying a well-earned and happy retirement after years of giving his heart to the sport.
